Desert Boot | Olive Cordovan
A clean, above-ankle silhouette in one of the most distinctive leathers available — the Desert Boot is quiet in form and considered in every detail.
The upper is cut from olive shell cordovan, a dense, non-porous leather taken from the hindquarter of the horse. Shell cordovan resists creasing in favour of rolling, develops a deep burnish with wear, and holds its colour with uncommon fidelity over years of use. The olive tone sits between green and brown, shifting subtly with the light.
Constructed using a Blake stitch and secured further with wooden pegs, the boot sits close to the foot with a lean profile. The sole, insole, heel, lining and stiffeners are all leather — the sole itself sourced from Thomas Ware & Sons of Bristol, chestnut tanned in the traditional manner. Made to order from the Andrew McDonald workshop at The Strand Arcade, Sydney. A rubber top piece can be added to the leather sole for $60.
